Company Background:
Reliance Power Ltd. is a part of Reliance ADA group and was established to develop, construct and operate power projects domestically and internationally. Reliance Power is currently developing 13 medium-sized and large power projects with a combined planned installed capacity of 28,200 MW, one of the largest portfolios of power generation assets under development in India. 

Reliance Power Ltd. is also considering the development of CBM (Coal Bed Methane) power generation assets under development in India. It is also considering the development of CBM power generation projects based on fuel from CBM blocks being explored by a consortium that includes its affiliates. Reliance Power’s projects are strategically located in the northern, western, and north-eastern regions of India to cater to the significant demand in the northern and western regions in India, besides the diversity of its projects in fuel type, fuel source and offtake.
The Reliance ADA Group comprises companies in telecommuniucations, financial Services, media and entertainment, infrastructure, energy and other sectors. The Reliance ADA Group intends Reliance Power to be its primary vehicle for investments.in the power generation sector in the future. It also intends to enter into offtake arrangements with certain of its affiliate, including REL and Reliance Energy Trading.

Object of the Issue:
Reliance Power intends to fund an aggregate amount of Rs.86,424.30mln from the net proceeds in its subsidiaries to partially finance the development of the identified projects. The same shall be funded either by way of share capital or shareholder loan or a combination of the two.
