The markets are now trading higher with some volatility as buying in scrips continued. The significant buying is seen in the Metal, FMCG, Consumer Durables and Auto stocks. However, the Capital Goods, Realty and Power stocks are still trading lower.

The overall market breadth is negative as 1113 stocks are advancing while 1426 stocks are declining in BSE.

Sterlite Industries reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading higher by (4.63%) at Rs.628.50 while Satyam Computer reported the top loser down by (3.16%) at Rs.386.50.

At 2.31PM BSE Sensex is at 14,304.14 up by 60.41 points and Nifty is at 4,304.60 up by 20.75 points.

The BSE Mid Cap is higher by 4.36 points to 5,711.82 and the BSE Small Cap slipped by 16.71 points to 6,920.31.

The BSE Metal index is the one of the top performer today trading with a gain of 184.46 points at 12,351.37. The main gainers are SAIL up by (3.91%) at Rs.150, Hindalco Industries increased by (3.91%) at Rs.134.10 followed by Sterlite Industries and ISPAT Industries inclined by (4.63%) and (1.60%) to Rs.628.50 and Rs.25.40 respectively.

The most active shares on NSE are Reliance Industries trading at Rs.2,234 with a total traded quantity of 1775991 shares followed by ICICI Bank trading at Rs.644.90 with a total traded quantity of 5211487 shares.
