The market is trading higher as continuous buying is seen in the FMCG, Power, Capital Goods and IT stocks. The Metal index is most preferred index today. However, the auto and Realty index are trading down. The BSE Mid Cap and BSE Small Cap are also trading strongly.

The overall market breadth is positive, as 1723 stocks are advancing whereas 762 stocks that are declining.

Tata Steel reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading higher by (4.09%) at Rs.623 while Maruti Suzuki reported the top loser down by (9.36%) at Rs.587.50.

At 2.31PM BSE Sensex is at 14,073.18 up by 223.14 points and Nifty is at 4,237.60 up by 78.10 points.

The BSE Mid Cap is higher by 74.49 points to 5,331.48 and the Small Cap advanced by 96.82 points to 6,534.80.

The BSE Metal index is the top gainer today trading with a gain of 431.13 points at 12,197.37. The main gainers are SAIL up by (7.36%) at Rs.134.90, Sesa Goa increased by (5.06%) at Rs.2,826 followed by Tata Steel and Jindal Steel inclined by (4.09%) and (4.01%) to Rs.623 and Rs.1,822.10 respectively.

The most active shares on NSE are ICICI Bank trading at Rs.647 with a total traded quantity of 6326805 shares followed by Reliance Capital trading at Rs.1129.20 with a total traded quantity of 3552155 shares.
