BSE Sensex live down by 393.43 at 2.31 pm

The market has lost further ground and slipped into deep red as fresh selling emerged across the board. The investors are worried about the inflation figure to cross above the 10% mark due to the hike in the fuel prices. The BSE Sensex is hovering near the 15500 mark and the NSE Nifty is trading around the 4600mark. The huge selling is seen in the Meta, Realty, Power and Auto stocks.

The overall market breadth is negative, as 756 stocks are advancing whereas 1792 stocks that are declining.

ONGC reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading higher by (5.67%) at Rs.890.05 while Maruti Suzuki the top loser down by (6.16%) at Rs.735.

At 2.31PM BSE Sensex is at 15,569.13 down by 393.43 points and Nifty is at 4,600.15 down by 115.75 points.

The BSE Mid Cap is lower by 123.83 points to 6,423.47 and the Small Cap dropped by 124.31 points to 7,757.98.

The BSE Metal index is the top loser trading with a loss of 657.24 points at 15,574.84. The main losers are Sterlite Industries down by (8.29%) at Rs.827, Tata Steel decreased by (4.66%) at Rs.821.50 followed by NALCO and Hindalco Industries declined by (3.86%) and (2.43%) to Rs.470.15 and Rs.180.50.

The most active shares on NSE are Reliance Industries trading at Rs.2355 with a total traded quantity of 2484526 shares followed by ONGC trading at Rs.890 with a total traded quantity of 5761885 shares.
