Sensex is at 13,863.48 down by 100.78 points at 2.31 pm
The market is under pressure as profit booking continued among the selective scrips mainly led by the Bank, Auto, IT and FMCG stocks. The BSE Mid Cap and BSE Small Cap have recovered a bit but are still in red.
The overall market breadth is negative, as 1251 stocks are advancing whereas 1268 stocks that are declining.
ACC reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading higher by (2.91%) at Rs.551.70 while Maruti Suzuki the top loser down by (3.58%) at Rs.567.60.
At 2.31PM BSE Sensex is at 13,863.48 down by 100.78 points and Nifty is at 4,140.30 down by 16.80 points.
The BSE Mid Cap is lower by 7.87 points to 5,462.81 and the Small Cap slipped by 4.57 points to 6,785.31.
The BSE Metal index is among the top gainer today trading with a gain of 70.90 points at 12,713.52. The main gainers are Gujarat NRE up by (2.34%) at Rs.111.45, Tata Steel increased by (2.18%) at Rs.692.70 followed by Ispat Industries and Bhushan Steel inclined by (2%) and (1.12%) to Rs.22.95 and Rs.811 respectively.
The most active shares on NSE are DLF trading at Rs.456.90 with a total traded quantity of 8510911 shares followed by Reliance trading at Rs.2038.85 with a total traded quantity of 1851737 shares.
DLF is trading higher by (1.79%) at Rs.458.35. The company has announced buyback of Rs.1100 crore of equity shares at maximum price of Rs.600 per share. The company is planning to buy a maximum of 22 million equity shares, which constitutes 1.1 per cent to 1.29 per cent of the total equity base of the company. After the buy-back, the promoters" shareholding in the company will go up to 89.3 per cent from 88.1 per cent.
