Sensex live down by 154 points at 2.31 pm

The market has recovered a bit from the day’s lows but is still trading in red. The smart buying witnessed in the Oil & Gas scrips. The BSE Sensex is hovering near the 15900 mark and the NSE Nifty is trading around the 4700 mark. The huge selling is seen in the Power, Capital Goods, IT and Realty stocks.

The overall market breadth is negative, as 592 stocks are advancing whereas 1986 stocks that are declining.

ACC reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading higher by (2.51%) at Rs.642.95 while Reliance Infra the top loser down by (4.57%) at Rs.1,116.95.

At 2.31PM BSE Sensex is at 15,908.19 down by 154.98 points and Nifty is at 4,694.05 down by 45.55 points.

The BSE Mid Cap is lower by 75.26 points to 6,508.93 and the Small Cap dropped by 125.76 points to 7,833.75.

The BSE Oil & Gas index is the top gainer trading with a gain of 94.77 points at 10,301.48. The main gainers are Reliance up by (2.21%) at Rs.2407.70, Cairn India increased by (1.50%) at Rs.277 followed by HPCL and Indian Oil inclined by (0.45%) and (0.27%) to Rs.243 and Rs.422.25.

The most active shares on NSE are Reliance Industries trading at Rs.2402.50 with a total traded quantity of 2642145 shares followed by L&T trading at Rs.2840 with a total traded quantity of 1313669 shares.

ACC is trading higher by (2.51%) at Rs.642.95. The company is eyeing potential takeover targets. The company has set aside enough funds for this purpose.
