Sensex live down by 178 points at 2.31 pm

The market has lost further grounds due to the continued selling pressure. The Realty index is the top loser today trading with a loss of more than 4% followed by the Power, Capital Goods and IT index. However, the FMCG and Metal stocks are facing some buying momentum.

The overall market breadth is negative, as 912 stocks are advancing whereas 1717 stocks that are declining.

ITC reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading higher by (1.72%) at Rs.224.50 while DLF the top loser down by (5.40%) at Rs.667.

At 2.31PM BSE Sensex is at 17,312.02 down by 178.87 points and Nifty is at 5,137 down by 55.25 points.

The BSE Mid Cap is lower by 74.19 points to 7,225.06 and the Small Cap slipped by 79.47 points to 8,765.87.

The BSE Realty index is the top loser trading with a loss of 422.16 points at 8,319.23. The main losers are Unitech down by (6.95%) at Rs.307.90, HDIL decreased by (6.06%) at Rs.782.50 followed by DLF and Omaxe declined by (5.40%) and (4.66%) to Rs.667 and Rs.234.

The most active shares on NSE are Bharti Airtel trading at Rs.852.25 with a total traded quantity of 6560496 shares followed by Reliance trading at Rs.2649.90 with a total traded quantity of 1523471 shares.

Tata Steel is trading higher by (1.60%) at Rs.816.75. The company wants to buy a stake in PT Krakatau Steel, Indonesia''s state steel firm. The company will shortly meet for talks with Indonesia’s industry minister.
