Sensex live down by 231 point at 2.31 pm

The market till now not showing any sign of recovery from its lower level as strong selling continued across the board. The IT, FMCG, Bank and Realty stocks are out of favor today. The Mid Cap and Small Cap stocks also trading in the negative territory.

The overall market breadth is negative, as 949 stocks are advancing whereas 1644 stocks that are declining.

Tata Steel reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading higher by (1.64%) at Rs.838.50 while ITC the top loser down by (5.53%) at Rs.214.40.

At 2.31PM BSE Sensex is at 17,107.45 down by 231.86 points and Nifty is at 5,084.50 down by 51 points.

The BSE Mid Cap is lower by 54.90 points to 7,146.66 and the Small Cap slipped by 39.75 points to 8,687.42.

The BSE IT index is the top loser trading with a loss of 125.45 points at 4,287.85. The main losers are Satyam Computer down by (3.67%) at Rs.471.30, Infosys Technologies decreased by (3.15%) at Rs.1786.10 followed by TCS and HCL Technologies declined by (2.19%) and (2.16%) to Rs.945.55 and Rs.287.35.

The most active shares on NSE are Reliance trading at Rs.2,666.50 with a total traded quantity of 1535565 shares followed by Reliance power trading at Rs.418.60 with a total traded quantity of 8053631 shares.
