Sensex live report down by 138 point at 1.34 pm
The market is trading negative after a firm beginning due to heavy selling in key stocks. Indian markets opened with gain on the back of mixed cues from the global markets, but was not able sustain the momentum after few hours of trading and turned red till the mid session on the back of selling pressure. Metal, Capital Good, Oil & Gas, Banking and Reality stocks are facing lack of support. Among the Sensex pack, 8 stocks are trading in green and 22 stocks are trading in red.
At 1.34PM, the BSE Sensex is trading lower by 138.71 points at 16,276.86 and NSE Nifty is losing by 58.45 points at 4,811.65.
The BSE Mid Cap and Small Cap are also trading down by 75.30 points and 47.92 points at 6,685.24 and 8,085.12.
Losers from the BSE are Hindalco In trading down by (3.44%) at Rs185.35 followed by NTPC Ltd by (2.50%) at Rs167.95, Ambuja Cement by (2.31%) at Rs93.00, Reliance Com Ltd by (2.26%) at Rs564.00, BHEL by (2.2.24%) at Rs1,625.00 and Reliance Infra by (2.17%) at Rs1,204.00.
Gainers from the BSE are Maruti Suzuki trading up by (1.70%) at Rs777.50 along with JP Associates by (1.55%) at Rs216.50, Satyam Comp by (1.54%) at Rs531.80, ITC Ltd by (0.99%) at Rs219.80 and HDFC by (0.66%) at Rs2586.00.
The Metal index is trading lower by 248.66 points at 16,665.97 as Sesa Goa Ltd is trading down by (4.16%) at Rs4,1080 followed by Hindalco In by (3.39%) at Rs185.45, Nat Aluminium Co (2.98%) at Rs518.00.00, Ispat Industries by (2.71%) at Rs30.55, and Gujarat Nre C by (2.41%) at Rs143.70.
The Capital Goods index is trading down by 105.12 points at 13,045.52. Contributed by Punj Lloyd (6.40%) at Rs300.30, along with Suzlon Energy trading lower by (3.35%) at Rs267.95, Praj Industries Ltd by (3.08%) at Rs185.50, Elecon Eng C by (2.84%) at Rs121.60, and Kalpat Power T (2.52%) at Rs698.00.
From the telecommunication sector, Bharti Airtel is trading up (0.62%) at Rs881.35 while Reliance Communications is down by (1.38%) at Rs569 along with Tata Communications by (0.87%) at Rs504.75.
In Cement sector, Ambuja Cements Is trading lower by (2.00%) along with ACC Ltd by (1.59%) at Rs650.80 and Grasim Industries Ltd by (1.21%) at Rs2,194.9.
From the Auto sector Hero Honda Motors is trading higher by (5.41%) at Rs786.50 along with Tata Motors Ltd by (0.74%) at Rs579.95.
NTPC Ltd is trading lower by (NTPC Ltd by (2.50%) at Rs167.95. NTPC is planning to set up a world-class Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in Chhattisgarh. The state government proposes to allot land for the Institute in the new capital area, while NPTC would bear the entire cost of the project. Further government has asked the corporation to resolve its disputes with South Korean and Russian equipment vendors and commission. Doosan of South Korea and Power Machines of Russia had to supply boilers for three 660 MW plants but now it is delayed due to the dispute.
