The market gains further grounds as strong buying witnessed across the board. The IT, Health Care, Oil & Gas and Realty stocks are the hot performers of the day. The Mid Cap and Small Cap stocks also joined rally today and are trading higher.

The overall market breadth is positive, as 1683 stocks are advancing whereas 873 stocks that are declining.

Ranbaxy Laboratories reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading higher by (11.27%) at Rs.493.55 while HDFC the top loser down by (1.73%) at Rs.2,340.

At 2.31PM BSE Sensex is at 16,213.11 up by 405.47 points and Nifty is at 4,901.85 up by 124.05 points.

The BSE Mid Cap is higher by 83.11 points to 6,606.33 and the Small Cap advanced by 114.26 points to 8,195.69.

The BSE IT index is the top performer today. It is trading with a gain of 218.31 points at 3,877.69. The main gainers are TCS up by (7.60%) at Rs.977, Wipro increased by (7.14%) at Rs.435 followed by Infosys Technologies and HCL Technologies inclined by (7.03%) and (5.65%) to Rs.1522 and Rs.243.

The most active shares on NSE are Reliance trading at Rs.2619.90 with a total traded quantity of 3062097 shares followed by Infosys Technologies trading at Rs.1520 with a total traded quantity of 3820455 shares.

L&T is trading higher by (1.73%) at Rs.2,825. The company has bagged an order valued at Rs 2,000 crore from Bombay Dyeing for developments. The project will be completed in 46 months by the end of December 2011.
